Romy and Andrew are beautiful people, I sense their deep care for the Earth and their longing to give return their gifts by learning to become producers of real wealth: clean air, water and food with healthy communities. Today we did the heavy monday morning chores, and only a bit delayed for first session. We went through the first 8 principles and received the manual! There was a focus on many of the dark issues ahead that only enhance the necessity of solutions like permaculture. We finished the day making a hot compost and watching a talk about peak energy. The lack of care for Earth, our addiction to energy and the economic system that has driven this madness really brings me down. He says” Real growth depends on real energy and real resources.” And yet so many seems to ignore that. We are at such a crucial time and as many good movements preparing solutions, as many movements are denying and working against it. I keep myself up by being gratefull for this madness, because it has pushed me towards experiencing how beautiful life can be. I strongly believe that we are one with nature and even though the time where humans could have had a harmonious life with nature is out of reach, we learn to move towards that and live to leave a world where thats possible for future generations.

I got all the good news from Phil yesterday - we are both going to the Bean farm in the same direction but on our seperate journey. Tom talked about understanding of patterns, and how and where they occour in nature. The creations of nature is beyond incredible, but then again simply natural - how there is order in chaos and distasters are balancing. Today we went through climatic factors in different climates, patterns in wind, preciptation and the change in seasons. First off we finished going through how Polynesian tribes navigated through the ocean through patterns recognition - just crazy and i envy their skills, all that knowlegde interacting with the sensibility of their senses. The most legendary one is “an experienced man lowers his testicular sac into the sea to accurately guage the water mass temperature. We saw loess plateau and talked about greed and active deathhelp. Tom also took us on a Tour around half of the property.

We finished off climate factors with precepitation and raditation, and went through different efficient heating system. Afterwards covered energy transactions in trees and water cycling. So far alot is repetition for me, ans luckily most of has become naturally been common sense to me. Im mostly excited about how i go reading landscapes and patterns in future designs, but the theory makes so much sense to me. We finished off watching geoff in food forests of different ages, and a docu about biodynamik farming in india. Through out the classes so far, we have many heavy sighs. Sighing for all the destruction made by mismanagement of the land. Sighing for dogmas of bad design and profit. Makes it more obvious why we are doing this course. Doing my best to not feel be stressed by the urgency.

Yesterday we Tom showed us our block of land and we started designing this afternoon. Sunday was such a empowering day for the community seeing so many people interested in self-suffiecient life style. I got fed with awesome talks from people engaged in creating resilient communities. A bit disappointed that the foodstalls had plastic containers, and there was no invitation for people to do BYO cuttlery and having washing stalls available. Monday Tom dived into soil and yesterday we got into earthworks. I havent been too present unfortunately my head has been stressed about whether my full potential (which is great due to my amazing circumstances) is put into practice. I distract my mind with food, social media and seperate myself from the others. I got sick of it today and will just live the next two days and enjoy my time with Tom Zaia romy Andrew and the animals, and be okay with finding the design difficult.
